Difficult questions will inevitably be asked of Church members, both by sincere seekers after truth and by people whose motives are to tear down the kingdom of God. In Getting at the Truth, Robert L. Millet demonstrates that we can reach out and build bridges of understanding with those of other beliefs without compromising what we know to be true. Our responsibility to be a leavening influence in society means we cannot completely avoid the troublesome issues of our world. This book helps us put many of those issues in context, clarifying our doctrines and showing how to respond to opposition most appropriately and peacefully.

Millet, professor of ancient scripture and former dean of Religious Education at Brigham Young University, holds a master’s degree in psychology from BYU and a Ph.D. in religious studies from Florida State University. My youngest son, REALLY thought we were in "Alphabet City." As we approached the city, he saw something that reminded him of "Alphabet City." He said, "Look mom! I think we're in Alphabet City!" He was practically jumping out of his seat (the seatbelt kept him down a bit!) and pointed out "There's the E! There's the P!" As we drove further into the city, he grew increasingly enthusiastic! He exclaimed adamently, "Mom! We ARE in Alphabet City!" I didnt have the heart to tell him that we were in "Atlanta." gigglesone day! :-) We took photos of all the letters and numbers we could find that day! What FUN!. Lawyers understand that this means that it is only accurate up to the time somewhat before it is published. Nice book on international business giving general overview.. After leaving the police force, he is first appointed to a term on the parole board, but then denied reappointment. Definitely a keeper! Get this one for your child's bookshelf. It is an American point of view certainly
