Just beautiful!. I would say this book by Arthur Browne - THIS is writing history with lightning. Issues of design attribution are commented upon and examined for several projects.
Two days after finishing the book I retrieved Eames Design and several other excellent books and realized that everything now seemed much clearer after reading Primer. There's always someone on the bottom rail.
It's a brutal history of a brutal, unfair time. And in this unfairness is the ignored counterargument to those who complain about 'affirmative action' being unfair - when Battle was a cop, there should have been 1000 black cops in New York, if there was going to be any sort of equal representation. Individuals like Battle didn't have that option, and he was willing to keep pushing forward in spite of the obstacles.
This book reminds us that one person can make a difference and inspire others towards their own greatness, but it must begin somewhere.. So 4, 5, 6 generations of
